Heaven is a Better Place

Last month, the world lost a great man. Joe Blumberg succumbed to his battle with prostate cancer, the very disease to which he devoted endless passion. For the past six years, Joe served as the Executive Director of the Men’s Health and Wellness Center (MHWC). He spent countless hours educating men and their loved ones about prostate cancer and overall health. He was equally skilled at speaking to a large group about screening and prevention as he was at helping an individual cope with advanced prostate cancer.

His role in the MHWC was only one dimension of this multi-dimensional man. I could fill up pages describing how special Joe was. Let me sum it all up by saying that anyone who knew him was better for having known him. When he walked into a room, he created an engaging and humble presence. He made that room a better place. And now that he walks through those pearly gates, heaven is a better place. Thank you, Joe.
