Robotic Bladder Reconstruction
Well I never met Dr Miller before I had my first surgery. I was pregnant and had something called placenta acreda and that means my placenta was growing through my uterus into my bladder and they thought other organs. So when I delivered my babies they had oncologist there to do a hysterectomy . I had Dr Miller there to deal with if it didn’t in fact grow into my bladder, which it did. I had another procedure done and about three months after my first one where he had to go in with the robotics and fix my bladder even further because it was not healing prior to that . And Dr millers nurse Jodi was very friendly and great I thin I called her probably once a week for the first month. She would always answer my questions if she couldn’t she’d call me back and in fact Dr Miller called me several times to reassure me that everything was going well. So I mean if I ever have any other problems I will definitely come back to his practice.
It was about six to eight months, I had a catheter for probably four months and something called a JP line and two kidney foleys for probably four months. But after the laparoscopic surgery, a month later I finally got rid of the catheter and the JP line and was left with the kidney foleys because when the placenta went through my bladder it messed with my left kidney ureter. So I had to have a stent put in from my kidney to my bladder and once that once in for about two months. Dr Miller went back in and took it out and after that about two months later I had a nuclear test and that showed how that kidney was going to be working cause they thought a lot of scar tissue was going to be left and it wasn’t going to work fully. But in fact its working just like the other one.
So it was a great recovery, Dr Miller was great he was very personable. I almost felt like he felt like that I was his sister or a family member. He was great, always gave you a hug when you came in asked how you were doing ,asked how the family’s doing. Just, I mean, just a great person.
